Bio

Geir Hytten: danser og koreograf, er utdannet fra London Contemporary Dance School og Laban (MA), London.

Han har samarbeidet med Punchdrunk i ulike prosjekter over ti år, og spilte Macbeth i den originale oppsetningen av «Sleep No More», London, Boston, New York og Shanghai. Andre kompanier; Vincent Dance Theatre, The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs, Frantic Assembly/National Theatre -Scotland, Daniel Kramer/Frauke Requardt (Sadler’s Wells), Coisceim, National Theatre -London og Complicite.

I Norge har han vært en del av Jo Strømgren Kompani (2011-2014), og danset for Impure Company, Brageteatret, Ulf Nilseng, Kjersti Engebretsen, Simone Grøtte, LATERNA (iRo/Skjeldal), Katrine Kirsebom og Karstein Solli.

Sammen med Marie Bergby Handeland koreograferte og utøvde han forestillingen Vi Synger, Ravnedans (2016).

YOUR FAN (2018) var hans andre helaftens forestilling, og hello brother (2019) hadde premiere under Multiplie Dansefestival 2019.

Geir var mottaker av Statens Arbeidsstipend 2014-2015, diversestipend (2013, 2017) og etterutdanningsstipend FFUK (2014, 2017). 

Bio

Geir Hytten: performer and choreographer. He received his training at London Contemporary Dance School and at Laban, London, where he completed an MA in Dance Performance.

He is a founding-member of Punchdrunk, collaborating in variuos projects over ten years. He made and performed the role of Macbeth in ‘Sleep No More’, which is still running in New York and Shanghai. Other companies include: Vincent Dance Theatre, The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs, Frantic Assembly/National Theatre -Scotland, Daniel Kramer/Frauke Requardt (Sadler’s Wells), Coisceim, National Theatre -London and Complicite.

In Norway, he has been a part of Jo Strømgren Kompani, 2011-2014. He has also worked with Impure Company, Brageteatret and Ulf Nilseng. The collaboration ‘Fragile’, with Kjersti Ingebregtsen, received the Norwegian critic’s price for best dancework, 2013. Together with Marie Bergby Handeland, he choreographed and performed Vi Synger, performed at Ravnedans 2016.

YOUR FAN (2018) is his second full-length dance work, both as a performer and choreographer, and he premiered hello brother (2019) at Multiplie Dansefestival.
